KSK IT is a small team based in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Our three co-founders do the engineering themselves. There are no account managers in between and no offshore handoff, so decisions happen quickly and your questions are answered by someone who knows the code.
We have completed more than 15 projects including FewoBase, a booking system for holiday apartments with an inquiry workflow, a bilingual interface and guest communication by email. We also build our own products, such as the Mac app Better Window Switcher and the Android app Krace. When you run your own software, you plan for maintenance from day one, and we bring that mindset to every client project.

FAQ
It depends mainly on the number of features, how many systems need to be connected and how clear the requirements already are. A prototype comes together much faster than a system with many user roles and integrations. After the initial consultation we give you a realistic timeline, and it often pays to start with a lean first version.
Effort, which comes from the number and complexity of features, integrations with existing systems, security and privacy requirements, and migrating existing data. That’s why we don’t name a price before we understand the project. After the free initial consultation, you receive a proposal with a fixed price for the agreed scope, and we point out where scope can be trimmed without losing sight of the goal.
You receive the complete source code and the usage rights you need to run, change and extend the software, including with other vendors. The details are set out in the contract. Because we build on widely used open-source technology, you aren’t tied to us.
Yes. We start with an assessment of the code, dependencies, documentation and hosting. Afterward you know what shape your system is in and which steps make sense next.
Yes. We work in English and German. In the Ruhr area and Düsseldorf, we’re always glad to come to you in person, for the first meeting, workshops or reviews, and video calls are there whenever you prefer them. If you’re farther away, we work together remotely and travel to you for the important meetings.
We build privacy in from the start: the software collects only the data it needs, access rights are clearly defined, and hosting can stay in German data centers. Where we process personal data on your behalf, we sign a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR.
