The Horst Görtz Institute at Ruhr University, the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy and companies such as G DATA have made the city a center of IT security. Bochum: from car plant to knowledge city

Getting to Bochum
Downtown Bochum is about 26 kilometers from our office in Mülheim, around half an hour by car depending on traffic. Whether you’re in Querenburg, Wattenscheid or Langendreer, we’re glad to come to you in person, for a first meeting as much as for workshops, sign-offs, training or hardware setup. Regular progress updates keep you in the loop during development, and short video check-ins are available if you prefer them.

Can we meet in person in Bochum?
Of course. Our office in Mülheim an der Ruhr is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Bochum, and we come by in person for your project: introductions, workshops, sign-offs or walking your team through the finished application. Video calls are available too, if they fit your calendar better.
How do you handle IT security in your projects?
It’s central to how we build. We plan permissions, data storage, updates and backups from the start and keep dependencies current. Formal assessments such as penetration tests are outside our scope; if your project needs one, we plan it in with a specialist provider.
Do you build prototypes for startups?
Yes. Prototypes and MVPs are part of our software development work. We help you cut the scope down to what matters so you can test with real users early, and we build it so the code can keep growing afterward.
Can you build applications that handle health data?
Yes, with the right groundwork. We clarify early where data is stored, who can access it and whether AI features need to run in the EU or locally, and we bring your data protection officer in from the start.
Can you check an existing application for weak spots?
Yes, as part of an architecture review. We look at the code, dependencies, permissions model, hosting and backups, and rank the findings by risk and effort. It doesn’t replace a formal penetration test, but it shows you where to start.
